Welcome
Happy New Year to all followers of Mevagissey Male Choir! This is our 50th Anniversary year, having been founded in 1974 by a group of local fishermen, and we will be marking the achievement with a special concert at the Hall for Cornwall in Truro on 12th June.
To date, the Choir has performed over 1,150 concerts, and enjoyed hugely successful tours of France, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Gibraltar, Madeira, Cyprus, Canada, and the USA, as well as appearances at the Royal Albert Hall and Parliament Square, and, of course, Truro Cathedral, The Minack Theatre and the Hall for Cornwall.
Over the years the Choir’s repertoire has evolved to embrace an increasingly wide range of music, from contemporary pop to classical and traditional, not forgetting songs from our Cornish heritage.
We currently have over 40 singers, ranging in age from early 20s to 80-plus. but we are always delighted to welcome new members. If you’d like to be part of this, come and join us.

I just want to tell you how much I adore my CD, which I bought on the harbour at Mevagissey in August. We had been walking the coastal path and were sitting eating fish and ships and watching dolphins when we heard musical sounds coming from the harbour. To our surprise, we found your choir singing. It was the highlight of my holiday. I knew and loved most of the songs, the setting was fabulous and the whole atmosphere was 'magical'.
