Join us

Come and join us . . .

. . . and make more than 50 new friends in an instant!

Just pop in to St Andrew’s, Mevagissey, on a Monday evening, introduce yourself, and we’ll get you to sing along with us as we practise. Or just listen to start with, if you prefer. Then, if it takes your fancy, join us for a pint afterwards at the pub.

We practise every Monday, except Bank holidays, from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm. Apart, that is, from August when you will find us singing to the holidaymakers on Mevagissey quayside.

You don’t have to be able to read music - at least half the Choir can’t! We learn all our pieces by heart so that we can sing anywhere - including in the pub after concerts and practices!

You won’t be expected to perform in concerts until you – and we – think you are ready. But you will be able to do everything else. Such as benefit from the expert tuition of our Music Director Graham Willcocks and his Assistant, Matthew Fox; join us in our popular concert ‘afterglows’; take part in our frequent social events; and receive our regular newsletter.

So . . . either just turn up on a Monday evening, or complere the form on our Contacts page for more information. We are all happy to talk!

Singing, and the camaraderie that comes with it, is fun - and it’s even good for your health!

Still hesitating? Then step beyond ‘sound bites’ and read this from one of our newest members:

I joined the choir almost one year ago. I had no previous choir experience but I enjoyed singing. My honest reflection today is that I should have done it many years ago. My thinking in the past was that I will try a choir one day, when I have more time on my hands.

I realise now that the whole experience of meeting new friends, of taking part in the learning process and of being part of a team who support one another, is something that would have enhanced my busy working life and not as I thought, disrupted it.
