'Only you' at Minack 2016
MMC visit to the Black Forest in 1992
Formed some years ago to sing in local concerts, the Mevagissey Octet became a sextet when six of the original members reformed this year to record a tape of popular songs from a varied background.
To do this to the best of their ability they acquired the services of Geoff Wheildon A.B.S.M., L.G.S.M., as Musical Director. The six, Geoffrey Pollard (top tenor), Gary Mitchell (second tenor), John Pearce and Terry Truscott (baritone)and Ron Hocking and Jack Rowe (bass) all have long connections with the well-known Mevagissey Male Choir.
They are all Cornish, four of them from Mevagissey while the other two have lived there for many years. They all live within a few hundred yards of each other in Mevagissey and work in and around the locality. They sing mainly for charity at functions anywhere within reach of Mevagissey and here present part of their repertoire. So, Steal Away and listen to the Mevagissey Six.
